New data from both industry and private practice suggests that telepharmacy can be a powerful tool for boosting medication safety, patient satisfaction and cost savings. Comprehensive Pharmacy Services recently compiled data from 145 hospitals that use its telepharmacy services. During a 12-month period, CPS telepharmacists caught and corrected 1,300 medication errors, reduced client costs by as much as 45% and contributed to as much as 60% improvement in HCAHPS scores.
